In RimWorld – Anomaly, darkness begins to spread from the edges of the world, bringing terrifying dangers like flesh infestations, cultist attacks, undead creatures, and invisible hunters. You are goal is to survive these nightmarish threats while capturing and are studying the mysterious entities that emerge, allowing you to harness the dark power of the void. Inspired by horror classics such as The Thing Hellraiser and Cthulhu Mythos the expansion throws your colonists into a world filled with paranoia war and infestation. For instance, you may find yourself facing a psychic predator that hunts your people each night, or battling a massive flesh creature spreading across the landscape. Sometimes, your colonists may become mind-controlled by parasites, forcing you to track down and eliminate the infected. Throughout the game strange and unsettling events will continue to unfold each more terrifying than the last.

As you progress you will fight grotesque monsters capture dark entities for study and exploit their powers to defend yourself. However, these tools come with great risks—push them too far, and they might turn on you. Cultists who serve the machine god will appear, attempting to perform dangerous rituals, while you can choose to perform your own to summon the dead or unleash chaos. In the endgame, the world descends into madness, leaving you with the ultimate choice of how to confront the machine god and determine the fate of your colony.
